Ingredients
  

  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme minced
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 12 sweet rolls
  • 10 slices provolone cheese
  • 14 oz sliced deli roast beef
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • Tbsp dried onion soup mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 3 cups water
  • Fresh parsley chopped (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Caramelize onions: melt butter, cook onion, thyme, salt, and pepper until golden.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Slice rolls; place bottoms in dish.
  • Layer half the cheese, roast beef, onions, and remaining cheese; top with roll tops.
  • Mix melted butter and soup mix; brush over rolls. Cover with foil; bake 25 min.
  • Uncover; bake 5 min more until golden.

Notes

  • You can use Hawaiian sweet rolls or any soft dinner roll you like.
  • Want it extra cheesy? Add a layer of shredded mozzarella before baking.
  • Make ahead by assembling the sliders earlier in the day and baking before serving.
