Ingredients – Main Filling:
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ onion finely diced
- 1 bell pepper finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning see below
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Optional Toppings:
- Sliced jalapeños
- Pickles
- Shredded cheese
- Coleslaw
Burger Buns:
- 4 –6 burger buns toasted with butter
Homemade Cajun Seasoning:
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp thyme
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Heat oil; sauté onion & pepper 5 min; add garlic 30 sec.
Brown chicken; add Cajun seasoning.
Stir in tomato paste, sauce, Worcestershire, sugar; simmer 10–15 min.
Season to taste.
Spoon onto buns; add toppings and serve.
