- 1 lb. spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1¾ teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 cups half and half
- ⅔ cup heavy cream
- 4½ cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
- 4 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
Preheat your oven to 400°F (206°C).
Cook the spaghetti in boiling water for 6 minutes, then drain and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for about 30 seconds to form a roux.
Stir in the salt, pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder.
