- 2 medium 300 g onions, sliced
- 1 cup 100 g chickpea flour
- 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast optional
- 3/4 tsp ground cumin
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 cup 120 ml water
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 green chili finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp parsley or cilantro chopped
- 3 Tbsp oil for frying
Thinly slice onions and set aside.
Whisk remaining ingredients (except oil) into a thick batter.
Stir in onions and herbs until coated.
Heat oil in skillet over medium heat.
Drop batter into pan and fry 2–4 min per side.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
