Cool off with this bright and fruity blueberry iced tea lemonade!

It’s naturally sweetened, antioxidant-rich, and perfectly balanced between tart lemon, juicy blueberries, and smooth tea.

A refreshing summer drink that’s bursting with natural flavor

Combines antioxidant-rich tea and fresh fruit for a healthy twist

Naturally sweetened with honey or sugar—your choice!

Easy to make ahead and perfect for entertaining

Customizable with green or black tea and your favorite garnishes

Ingredient Highlights

Black or green tea – The bold base of this iced drink. Choose your favorite!

Blueberries – Fresh or frozen, they add natural sweetness and rich color.

Lemon juice + zest – Brightens the drink with a zippy, citrusy tang.

Honey or sugar – Stirred into the warm tea for customizable sweetness.

Ice & mint garnish – Keeps it cool and fresh, with a pretty presentation.

Pro Tips Before You Start

Don’t boil green tea! Use hot (not boiling) water to avoid bitterness.

Mash the blueberries gently to release juice without over-pulping.

Taste before chilling—you can always add more sweetener or lemon.

Let the tea cool completely before mixing to avoid dilution.

Use frozen blueberries to double as fruity ice cubes!

How to Make Blueberry Iced Tea Lemonade

Step 1: Brew the Tea
Steep tea bags (black or green) in hot water for 3–5 minutes.

Remove bags and let tea cool to room temperature.

Step 2: Mash the Berries
In a small bowl, combine blueberries, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

Gently mash with a fork or muddler to release juices.

Step 3: Sweeten the Tea
While the tea is still warm, stir in honey or sugar until dissolved.

Adjust sweetness to taste.

Step 4: Combine Tea and Blueberries
Add the mashed blueberry-lemon mixture to the cooled tea and stir well to combine.

Step 5: Chill or Serve
Refrigerate the blueberry tea lemonade until fully chilled.

Or serve immediately over ice for a quicker option.

Step 6: Pour & Garnish
Fill glasses with ice and pour the blueberry iced tea lemonade over top.

Garnish with mint, lemon slices, and extra berries if desired.

What to Serve It With

Fresh fruit salad or summer melon skewers

Grilled chicken, shrimp, or veggie kebabs

Light pasta salads or couscous bowls

Pastries like scones, shortbread, or lemon bars

Brunch spreads and picnic fare

Variations / Substitutions

Use green tea for a more delicate and grassy base

Add sparkling water for a fizzy version

Try raspberries or blackberries instead of blueberries

Use maple syrup or agave instead of honey for a vegan version

Add a splash of vodka or gin for a grown-up cocktail twist

Storage & Leftovers

Fridge – Store leftovers in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Stir before serving – Fruit and flavors may settle at the bottom.

Make ahead – Brew the tea and prep the blueberry-lemon mixture a day in advance.

Avoid freezing – Ice dilution and lemon can affect texture/flavor after thawing.

FAQs

Can I use bottled lemon juice?
Fresh lemon juice is best for flavor, but bottled will work in a pinch.

Can I use frozen blueberries?
Yes! They work just as well and help keep the drink cold.

Is it better with black or green tea?
Both work—black tea is stronger and bolder, while green tea is lighter and more floral.

How can I make this sugar-free?
Skip the honey and add your preferred sugar substitute like stevia or monk fruit.

Do I need to strain the blueberry mixture?
No, but you can strain for a smoother drink if preferred.

Can I double this recipe?
Absolutely! It scales up perfectly for a crowd or party pitcher.

What’s the best garnish?
Fresh mint, lemon slices, and a few extra blueberries always look and taste great!

Final Thoughts

This blueberry iced tea lemonade is one of my favorite ways to stay cool and hydrated during the warmer months.

It’s a beautiful blend of tart, sweet, fruity, and refreshing—plus, it’s easy to make and looks gorgeous in a glass!
