Juicy “smash” beef patties cooked right on warm tortillas, layered with American cheese, tangy mayo-ketchup relish, sautéed onions, pickles, tomato, and shredded romaine. All the flavor of a classic burger, handheld taco-style!

Ingredients
  

For the Spread:

  • cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tbsp minced red onion
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp granulated sugar

For Assembly & Serving:

  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • ¾ lb ground beef 80/20
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • Kosher salt & black pepper to taste
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • Sliced dill pickles
  • 1 small Campari tomato sliced
  • 1 romaine heart shredded

Instructions
 

  • Mix all spread ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate.
  • Press beef evenly onto tortillas, spread with mustard, season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a skillet. Cook tortillas beef-side down, smashing flat.
  • Flip, warm tortilla briefly, transfer to plate, and top with cheese.
  • Sauté diced onion in skillet until golden.
