Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices rye or whole wheat bread
  • 4 oz whipped cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 –8 slices smoked salmon about 4 oz
  • 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup baby arugula or watercress

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix cream cheese with chives, dill, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  • Toast bread until golden and let cool.
  • Spread cream cheese on all slices.
  • Top two slices with salmon, red onion, and arugula.
  • Place remaining bread on top, cream cheese side down.
