- 1 ¼ cup whole milk
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
- ¼ cup honey
- 4 Tbsp melted butter divided
- 1 large egg at room temperature
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 cups 480g all-purpose or bread flour
Heat milk until steaming, then cool to lukewarm.
In a small bowl, combine milk, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix 3 Tbsp butter, yeast mixture, egg, salt, and half the flour.
Mix until smooth.
Gradually add remaining flour. Knead 8 minutes until soft and elastic.
Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1 hour.
