- 2 ounces milk dairy or plant-based
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon or 4 cinnamon sticks
- 4 tablespoons vanilla extract or 4 vanilla beans split and scraped
- 2 star anise optional
- 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags
- Sweetener to taste optional
Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans (or ground cinnamon and vanilla extract).
Turn off heat and cover to steep for 10 minutes. Add star anise if using.
Add black tea and steep for 3–5 minutes.
Warm milk in a separate pot or microwave until hot but not boiling.
