Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces water
  • 2 ounces milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon or 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 tablespoons vanilla extract or 4 vanilla beans split and scraped
  • 2 star anise optional
  • 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags
  • Sweetener to taste optional

Instructions
 

  • Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
  • Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans (or ground cinnamon and vanilla extract).
  • Turn off heat and cover to steep for 10 minutes. Add star anise if using.
  • Add black tea and steep for 3–5 minutes.
  • Warm milk in a separate pot or microwave until hot but not boiling.
  • Strain the spice and tea infusion into warm milk.
